Here at the Lifehouse, we wholeheartedly
believe the principle: “You can’t out-give God.” But today,
we’re definitely going to try!
Today, God has blessed the Lifehouse
with $6000 in cash. And instead of keeping it for ourselves, we figure the
only fitting thing to do is give it away! It’s not as if
we don’t need it. Our church is growing, which means our
expense are growing. We just hired new staff, moved into
a theater (which requires upgrades in equipment), and already
run a very tight budget. God blesses people with resources--
not so they can hoard it to themselves-- but so they can
help others. Just like we challenge people to give to Lifehouse,
even when they feel like they can’t, we’re putting our
money where our mouth is. (literally!) Church doesn’t have
to be a place that is “take, take, take”. We’re here to
give and serve.
Every person that attends Lifehouse has been given an
envelope with a set amount of cash in it. The amounts have
been selected randomly, but the contents
of this envelope are now yours! No strings attached!
What’s the catch, you ask? Well, it’s simple. We only
ask two things:
- Use the money to personally help someone
in your local community.
What does this mean? Well, we’d like you to personally
help someone in your neighborhood, workplace, or circle
of friends. Rather than simply donate the money to an organization
like Compassion International, the Red Cross, Boy Scouts,
or even a local food pantry/homeless shelter, we encourage
you to personally reach out to an individual in your very
own circle of influence.
Buy groceries for someone, fill their gas tank, pay
their heating bill, buy a stranger dinner, or give
a single mom a spa gift certificate. BE CREATIVE! But
BE PERSONAL! This is your money now-- so pray God opens
up the perfect opportunity for you to bless someone
with it.

This is one of the boldest, most exciting outreaches
the Lifehouse has ever done, and we would LOVE to hear
all of your stories on how God prompted you to use
this money.

us! I will be sharing on my blog here. We believe God
has HUGE things in store for this outreach, and we want
everyone to be able to share the joy and excitement with
the other friends and family in the Lifehouse.
So there you have it! You
are now part of the Give Project: $6000 in cash spreading all over the Tri-State area to
be used for God’s glory! Let’s dream big, take big steps
of faith, and believe God for a big impact!
